Map Bureau is Chris Goad and Donalda Speight.

We've been working on maps for the web since 1999, using Macromedia Flash as the display mechanism. Our initial efforts were hand-crafted and hand-coded, though often quite elaborate. For example, the Salmon and Dams temporal map is one of our earliest interactive maps, but is also one of the most complex.

More recently, we've been working on tools to allow people to do their own mapping (hundreds of users have made maps using our *Mapper service), and to automatically extract and map information from a variety of web sources as explained in the "Big Picture" section.
